12th January 2019 was designated as the nomination day for the by election in Cameron Highlands. A by-election was held on 26 January 2019 for the Dewan Rakyat seat of Cameron Highlands. Barisan National team from MIC all geared up and gathered at Padang Awam Maljis Daerah Cameron Highlands Tanah Rata before we marched to Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sultan Ahmad Shah Tanah Rata Cameron Highlands. Barisan Nasional’s direct member candidate Ramli Mohd Nor won the by-election. He was the first indigenous Orang Asli candidate elected into the Dewan Rakyat. The machinery from MIC from all wings helped in the campaign. BN made the first victory in Cameron Highlands.
