🎉 Happy MIC Day – Celebrating 79 Years of Struggles, Achievements & Reforms 🇲🇾
On 4th August 1946, a historic milestone was etched at Chettiar Hall, Sri Mariamman Temple, Kuala Lumpur, where Indian leaders across Malaya united to form the Malayan Indian Congress (MIC), the first political party to protect and champion the rights of the Indian community in Malaya.
Founded by John Thivy, MIC fought for what mattered most: citizenship, dignity, and representation for the Indian diaspora in Malaysia.
Over the past 79 years, MIC has been led by ten dedicated Presidents, each carrying the party forward through different eras. Among them, the late Tun Samy Vellu made history through his transformational focus on education development, establishing ; AIMST University, TAFE College Seremban & MIED (Maju Institute of Educational Development).
Through MIED, Tan Sri SA Vigneswaran continues to provide scholarships and education aid to ensure no Indian student is left behind.
Today, under the bold and reform-minded leadership of our 10th President, Tan Sri SA Vigneswaran, MIC is undergoing a major transformation, one that focuses on youth & women empowerment, strategic outreach, and long-term sustainability of the party. His leadership prioritizes reforming MIC’s structure to stay relevant, dynamic and inclusive for a new generation.
Tan Sri President has emphasized that MIC must not be merely reactive but must evolve as a solution-driven movement for the Indian Community in Malaysia.
As we celebrate MIC’s 79th Anniversary, we stand proud of our legacy and excited about a future filled with possibilities.

மஇகா தின நல்வாழ்த்துகள் – 79 ஆண்டுகால போராட்டங்கள், சாதனைகள் மற்றும் சீர்திருத்தங்கள்.
1946-ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட் 4-ஆம் நாள், தலைநகர், ஈப்போ சாலையில் அமைந்துள்ள செட்டியார் மண்டபத்தில் ஒரு வரலாற்று நிகழ்வு பொறிக்கப்பட்டது. அங்கு மலாயா முழுவதும் உள்ள இந்தியத் தலைவர்கள் ஒன்றுபட்டு மலேசிய இந்திய காங்கிரஸ் (MIC) எனும் மாபெரும் கட்சியை உருவாக்கினர். இது மலாயாவில் உள்ள இந்திய சமூகத்தின் உரிமைகளைப் பாதுகாக்க உருவாக்கப்பட்ட முதல் அரசியல் கட்சியாகும்.
ஜான் திவியால் நிறுவப்பட்ட மஇகா, மலேசியாவில் பரவலாக உள்ள புலம்பெயர்ந்த இந்தியர்களுக்கான குடியுரிமை, மரியாதை மற்றும் பிரதிநிதித்துவம் போன்ற மிக முக்கியமான விடயங்களுக்காகப் போராடியது.
மஇகாவைக் கடந்த 79 ஆண்டுகளில், பத்து அர்ப்பணிப்புமிக்க தலைவர்கள் வழிநடத்தியுள்ளனர். ஒவ்வொருவரும் வெவ்வேறு சகாப்தங்கள் வழியாக கட்சியை முன்னோக்கி கொண்டு சென்றனர். அவர்களில், மறைந்த துன் சாமி வேலு அவர்கள், கல்வி மேம்பாட்டில் மாற்றத்தை ஏற்படுத்தும் வகையில் கவனம் செலுத்தி, ஏய்ம்ஸ்ட் (AIMST) பல்கலைக்கழகம், சிரம்பானில் டேப் கல்லூரி மற்றும் எம்.ஐ.இ.டி (மாஜு கல்வி மேம்பாட்டு நிறுவனம்) ஆகியவற்றை நிறுவி வரலாறு படைத்தார்.
எம்.ஐ.இ.டி மூலம், டான் ஸ்ரீ எஸ். ஏ. விக்னேஸ்வரன் அவர்கள் எந்தவோர் இந்திய மாணவரும் பின்தங்கியிருக்கக் கூடாது என்பதை உறுதி செய்வதற்காக உபகாரச் சம்பளம் மற்றும் கல்வி கடன் உதவிகளைத் தொடர்ந்து வழங்கி வருகிறார்.
இன்று, மஇகா-வின் 10-ஆம் தலைவர் டான் ஸ்ரீ எஸ்.ஏ. விக்னேஸ்வரன் அவர்களின் துணிச்சலான மற்றும் மறுசீரமைப்பு மனப்பான்மை கொண்ட தலைமையின் கீழ், மஇகா ஒரு மிகப் பெரிய மாற்றத்தைச் சந்தித்து வருகிறது. இது இளைஞர்கள் மற்றும் பெண்களுக்கான பொறுப்பு பகிர்தல், மெய்யான மக்கள் தொடர்பு ஏற்படுத்துதல் மற்றும் கட்சியின் நீண்டகால நிலைத்தன்மை ஆகியவற்றில் கவனம் செலுத்துகிறது. அவரது தலைமை, புதிய தலைமுறைக்குப் பொருத்தமானதாகவும், துடிப்பானதாகவும், அனைவரையும் இணைக்கும் வகையில் இருக்க மஇகாவின் கட்டமைப்பைச் சீரமைக்க முன்னுரிமை அளிக்கிறது.
மஇகா வெறுமனே எதிர்வினையாற்றலாக மட்டும் செயலாற்றாமல் மலேசியாவில் உள்ள இந்தியச் சமூகத்திற்கான தீர்வு காணும் கட்சியாக முன்னேற வேண்டும் என்று டான் ஸ்ரீ தலைவர் அவர்கள் வலியுறுத்தியுள்ளார்.
மஇகாவின் 79-ஆம் ஆண்டு நிறைவைக் கொண்டாடும் இந்த வேளையில், நமது பாரம்பரியத்தைப் பற்றி நாம் பெருமிதம் கொள்கிறோம். மேலும், சாத்தியக்கூறுகள் நிறைந்த எதிர்காலத்தைப் பற்றி உற்சாகமாக இருக்கிறோம்.
